Pieter Both Village at Queensland Games Festival 2025

A Day of Creativity, Play, and Innovation

On Saturday 14th June 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to showcase my mobile indie game, Pieter Both Village, at the vibrant Queensland Games Festival, held at the iconic Brisbane Powerhouse.

Queensland Games Festival 2025

As a game designer and immersive tech enthusiast, being selected to exhibit among some of Australia’s most creative game developers was a major highlight. The event ran from 10am to 5pm, drawing in families, students, game enthusiasts, and industry professionals alike.

Bringing Pieter Both Village to Life

The response to Pieter Both Village exceeded my expectations. Throughout the day, visitors stopped by to playtest the game, ask questions about the creative process, and share their feedback. It was a joy to see people of all ages exploring the village I created a world inspired by culture, creativity, and interactive storytelling.

Inspiring Young Game Developers

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was hosting my Mini Mobile Game Development: From Idea to App workshop from 2pm to 4pm. Specially tailored for young people aged 11 to 17, the session was all about empowering teens to turn their ideas into playable games using just their smartphones.

In this hands-on workshop, participants learned the core steps of mobile game development, from concept sketching and storyboarding to building mechanics and testing all in a fun, beginner-friendly format. Watching these young minds light up with curiosity and confidence was the true reward of the day.

A Grateful Moment

Big thanks to the organizers Truna aka j.turner, Zed Games & Queensland Games Festival & to every single person who stopped by, played the game, or took part in the workshop. Your support and enthusiasm made the day unforgettable.
